The Department of Taiwanese Literature building is located on Li-Hsing Campus inside what was formerly the Medical Facility of the Imperial Japanese Army Second Infantry Regiment, a municipal historic site. The exterior has typical red brick arches, and the trusses were made from precious Alishan cypress trees. It was one of the specialized hospitals used by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Japanese occupation.
