Dong-Ning Scholar Dormitory is a new type of student dorm located on Dong-Ning Campus. Its design concept is the integration of liberal arts education with an academy of classical learning-like residential life, thereby allowing NCKU to practice holistic education. The dorm works with an adjacent dormitory for scholars and teachers to offer a dormitory tutor system that allows teachers and students to interact outside the classroom and encourages the development of family-style communal relationships. The dorm also offers a range of living options, and places great importance on diverse spaces for neighborly interaction that can smash academic divisions and inspire cross-discipline dialogue and growth. The dorm has grown alongside surrounding communities and has an abundance of green spaces. It not only serves as a model for contemporary campus living, but also fulfills the school’s social responsibility to the city.
